GIVING
Thank you for your interest in supporting St. Thomas School.
St. Thomas School, like almost all independent schools, depends upon the generosity of our community to sustain and advance the mission of the school. The school’s mission is the ultimate goal and inspiration for leaders, volunteers, and professional staff. All fund-raising activities take place to fulfill the goals and initiatives of the Strategic Plan. This is an exciting time in the history of STS as we embark on new capital projects that will help maintain the tradition of excellence found here.
There are many ways that parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, and friends can take an active role in fostering the school’s mission and ensuring the best possible educational environment for STS students and faculty.
St. Thomas School’s fund-raising initiatives consist of four ongoing but separate programs:
- Annual Fund — The Annual Fund provides the essential unrestricted dollars for the operating budget that enhance the educational experience at St. Thomas School.
- The Campaign for St. Thomas School — On May 19, 2007, STS formally announced a $30 million campaign to construct a new state of the art learning facility and to support our mission.
- Auction — The Auction brings the St. Thomas School community together to celebrate the school, and it provides an opportunity for friends and families to offer support.
- Major Gifts — Income from major gifts, and from the school’s endowment funds, helps support student financial aid, faculty compensation, the library, and other school programs.
Fund raising is set forth and defined by the Board of Trustees and the Board’s Development Committee. The Development Committee is charged with supporting and promoting the overall fund-raising efforts at St. Thomas School. Many fund-raising activities at the school are staffed in part by volunteers. Because staff are responsible for nurturing long-term relationships to benefit the school, volunteer fund-raising activities must be coordinated through the Development Coordinator.
