Raise-the-Paddle
During our Celebrate! event, we will have a Raise-the-Paddle which will support a year of study, exploration, and implementation under the guidance/mentorship of national leaders in the world of gifted education. A key premise of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model is that students who experience enjoyment, engagement, and enthusiasm for learning have the greatest achievement. This year of professional development will strengthen teacher's practices, and create a common language and skill level throughout every division.
Every student will be affected, as teachers personalize learning experiences based on interests and readiness. As a result of this yearlong training, teachers will improve their ability to identify and teach to key concepts and overarching understandings, while embedding critical skill development. Parent workshops will provide parents the opportunity for learning more about the importance of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model, and how they can integrate this model at home.
Your support of our faculty and their ongoing education is essential, and we greatly appreciate your generosity!

STS Fun Fact
In June 2007, the community bid farewell to the old-school buildings as plans were laid for a new campus, and the school's first major Capital Campaign was launched to provide funding for the new campus, and to establish funding for other critical initiatives including financial aid grants, professional development, and academic programs. In August 2008, after being temporarily located in Kirkland, STS moved back to a brand new, state-of-the-art 55,000 square foot building. The building, certified LEED® Gold for Schools, provides a state of the art learning environment for our students.
