"Having one-on-one time with teachers, knowing my friends intimately, feeling safe...these made all the difference in the world." - STS Alum

At St. Thomas School, our day-to-day decisions, policies, and programs are based on a core set of guiding beliefs.

SCHOOL & COMMUNITY

At St. Thomas School we have strong beliefs that a healthy community takes a strong commitment and constant dedication. Supported by our Guiding Beliefs, STS strives to develop and nurture a learning community that is connected through a shared vision. Students are at the center of the learning community, supported by engaged faculty and involved parents.

STS is deeply engaged in the surrounding community and “gives back” through service learning and community service projects. The annual CampFair is a wonderful example of the school’s outreach efforts. Another example is the partnership we have established with the Pacific Science Center for summer camps held here on campus.

The school also sponsors national and local speakers and presentations designed not only to support current parents, but future families and the broader community as well.

The Builder, the school’s news magazine, provides additional insights into school events. The website itself is another wonderful source for the broader community to gain insights into school happenings – so check back frequently!

STS continues to build strong partnerships with other private schools, organizations, foundations, institutes, and colleges. In this way, STS remains current on recent research and supports the broader educational community.

STS feels strongly that one way to “give back” is to support educators who are early in their careers or who are seeking to grow professionally. We believe that our educational model is exemplary and that interns, student teachers,  and other educators benefit greatly from time spent in the company of our experienced teachers. As such, STS maintains affiliations with several local colleges and universities.
