We are fond of saying that to truly understand St. Thomas School, you need to experience it first-hand. Campus life at STS is vibrant and joyful, and infused with a wonderful sense of tradition. Students of all ages thrive in an environment where routines and expectations are clear. By framing the school day, students build confidence. We personally welcome every child every day, come together as an entire school in Chapel, and at the end the day, we return students into the care of their parents with individual goodbyes and appreciation for their contributions.
Within the framework of predictability, what happens inside is amazing! Students and families are encouraged to explore the wide range of experiences and opportunities that extend and expand the school day. Extended Day brings students of all ages together in the morning and the afternoon. Whether they engage in chess, board games, homework, or art projects, students are well-cared for before and after school. In the afternoon, students can also explore a variety of extra-curricular classes, clubs, and sports. What better way to develop a new talent or make a new discovery?
At St. Thomas School, the classroom walls are permeable. Students are constantly engaged with nature in the school’s LEED Gold campus. Our various gardens connect students to nature, and our location directly across from Medina Park allows for an expanded outdoor experience. Field trips engage students in the broader local community. In the upper grades, these field experiences expand to include national and international trips.
Campus life expands beyond regular school days as well! Be sure to investigate summer and vacation camps. In partnership with our own faculty, Pacific Science Center, and Seattle Children’s Theatre, we offer specialized camps for students of all ages.
With so much happening, we have developed a unique section of the website called “Excellence in Action.” This is where you will find brief articles, photos, videos, and stories that bring the St. Thomas School experience alive. We encourage you to check back frequently.
