Campus Store

The Student Store has become a 6th Grade tradition. This is one of the leadership responsibilities of the 6th Grade class. The store is open twice a week in the Middle School Plaza during morning recess.

The student store is connected to the 6th grade math class and all profits will go towards the annual 6th Grade class gift given at the end of the year. The purpose of the student store is to use math, technology, and writing and research skills in a real-life context, helping students develop an awareness of developing and maintaining a budget, keeping inventory, marketing, and responding to consumer demand. 6th Grade students manage the store and work in designated jobs. They are responsible for planning, preparing, and organizing all stages of the process.

At the end of the year, the students canvas the faculty for information on what is needed for the school campus. The students then go through a decision-making process, agreeing on their final gift to the school. Gifts vary from year to year, and reflect not only the students’ entrepreneurial spirit, but their unique class culture as well. Items such as picnic tables and a greenhouse have been purchased for the school in the past.
