Coffee With Kirk
We love coffee here in the Seattle area, so it should come as no surprise that coffee takes center stage at St. Thomas School as well. You may have already discovered that our Coffee Bar welcomes parents and guests from the moment they enter the school.
In addition, the Head of School invites all parents to join in casual conversation (with coffee, of course) several times throughout the school year. These “Coffees with Kirk” are often open-ended conversations with no set agenda. Parents are welcome to engage in dialogue about any aspect of school life. Other key administrators or teachers join on occasion as well.
In addition to the open agendas, Coffees with Kirk are occasionally organized around a particular theme. These themes often emerge from previous conversations, suggestions from parents, or are designed to advance parents’ understanding about a particular topic or new direction.
Truly, Coffee with Kirk is one of the best ways to get to know the Head of School and to get a sense of what is on his mind and on the minds of other parents.
But that’s not all! In this high-pace world, we recognize that parents are not always able to attend the morning coffees. And, quite honestly, a lot takes place between these gatherings. Welcome to Coffee with Kirk…at the virtual coffee house! The “virtual coffee house” is meant to embody this same spirit as the regular coffees – a great way to get to know the Head and to get a feeling for the ebb and flow of school life.
