As part of an annual service learning project, the 5th Graders at St. Thomas School organized a food drive for Hopelink during the week of November 14-18, and they collected 1,582 pounds of food during that time.

Art Specialist Hannah Salia has organized Seward Park's centennial art show, and she is one of the featured artists in the show!

Seward Park has been a place of inspiration and replenishment for one hundred years! Celebrating Seward Park's centennial this year with paintings, mixed media work, and poetry that reflects the direct inspiration of our wonderful park, the work of local visual artists and writers will be showcased at the Audubon Center gallery at the Park's entrance.

You are invited to come and celebrate the Park's centennial for the opening reception on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Meet the artists, enjoy refreshments, and listen to spoken work poetry by Carletta Carrington Wilson.

These kids can tell you about how trees store carbon, how rainforests help stabilize our atmosphere, and how important it is to work together to save rainforests. "We're running out of trees, so it's important we give back and plant more trees," said 12-year-old Kusiima.
