Academics

St. Thomas School is a co-ed, private school serving Seattle and Eastside students in preschool through 8th grade. At St. Thomas School, learning is still cool, and manners still matter. We commit to character education guiding our students learn to live, lead, and serve with integrity, generosity, and compassion. Here, students get to be a critical thinker; public speaker; writer; innovate; athlete and artist. Our entire community supports children in reaching high and succeeding. A state-of-the-art building foster whole-child learning at the highest level. We expect more from our students because we know they’re capable of becoming more – more skilled, confident, clear about right and wrong, and more prepared. For more than six decades, we’ve seen it time and again: Raise the bar for children, and they won’t just meet it – they’ll leap it.

Our rigorous, integrated courses are taught by innovative teachers who are experts in fields. Our curriculum is built on the bedrock subjects of math, language arts, social students, and science. We enrich it further with courses in art, music, foreign languages, technology, and physical education. Across the curriculum, we stress five core skills we believe every St. Thomas School graduate should master: thinking, communication, research, technological literacy, and self-management.
