Parent Teacher Student Conferences

Conference Signups open on Monday!

Parent Teacher Student Conferences are coming up soon! Wednesday, March 20 is a no-school conference day; some grades have conferences on March 19, 21, or 22.

We continue to have division-specific conferences supporting students and parents on the Preschool-8th Grade journey.

Conferences are an opportunity for the School and family to work together in support of children's learning. These rich conversations are the cornerstone of the STS Partnership.

Each conference is twenty minutes long. If you have two or more children at STS, please allow enough time to get from one conference to the next. It may not always work to choose two adjacent conference times if moving across the school.

Please note that there will be no Afternoon Extended Day on Wednesday, March 20; all childcare will end at 4:00 p.m.

In addition to complimentary childcare during conference times, we are offering a limited number of all-day spaces. All-day childcare will run from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on March 20 for a cost of $75.00. Parents must register and pay for all-day childcare online (separate from the Parent-Teacher Conference registration page.)

Early Learning Center

The ELC team is excited to meet with parents during our school conferences. This formal conference is a time for parents to learn more about how their child engages in schoolwork. Teachers will share information about children's progress and expectations for ongoing achievement. Parents should bring questions, insights about how their child learns, and hopes for their child's experience in the Early Learning Center.

Home and school collaboration is a goal for ELC conferences. Parents and teachers will discuss social and emotional goals for children as well as strategies to meet the academic challenges of our program. Parents should leave with concrete examples of their child's progress and a feeling of partnership with their child's teachers.

ELC Conferences are for parents and teachers; please sign up for free childcare provided through our Extended Day staff during your scheduled conference time on Wednesday, March 20th.

A limited number of full-day childcare openings are also available for Wednesday; sign-up and payment are required.

Online signups for conferences and complimentary childcare during conference appointments are available through the Parent Portal starting March 4th. Please make sure that you sign up for a childcare time slot separately from a conference with the teacher in order to reserve a spot for your child on Wednesday, March 20th.

Conferences for 2-Day students occur on Friday, March 22nd.

Conferences for 3-Day, 5-Day, PreK, and K students occur on Wednesday, March 20th. There is no school on Wednesday, March 20th.

We look forward to meeting with you!

Elementary Center

March conferences are scheduled to coincide with the Second Trimester report card. These conferences provide an opportunity to focus on your child’s growth and progress towards goals.

Our aim is for you to leave the conference understanding how your children’s strengths will continue to help them meet our high expectations.

Sign-ups for conference times as well as childcare will be open on Monday, March 4th. Please make sure that you sign up for a childcare time slot separately from a conference with the teacher in order to reserve a spot for your child on Wednesday, March 20th.

1-3rd Grade teachers will meet with parents on Wednesday, March 20th. There is no school for students on March 20.

4th Grade teachers are available on March 19 and March 20 for conferences. March 19 is a regular school day for students.

4th Grade Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences: Students are expected to attend and lead the conference with their parent(s). At the conference, students will share personal expectations they created including key academic, organizational, and/or social goals. This student involvement creates a wonderful opportunity for partnership and for children to recognize that they are empowered and responsible learners. Separate adult conversations can be arranged if needed.

Conferences will include both teachers, Mrs. Jaffe and Mr. Hopker, at the same time. We are excited about the partnership of parents, students, and both core teachers working to celebrate success and establish common goals for students.

Full-Day Childcare

All-day childcare is available Wednesday, March 20, 2019 for current STS students during Parent Teacher Conferences. STS will provide lunch and snacks. Childcare starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m.

Our sign-up system is designed so only one student name can be signed up per time slot. This does not mean childcare is limited to one STS student per conference time. Siblings, as long as they are St. Thomas School students, can also join childcare. Please note that complimentary childcare is only available during your registered conference time(s).

Fees are $75 per child, due at registration, and are non-refundable. Please note there is no childcare after 4:00 p.m.

Please contact Dave Gifford if you have any questions.
