Educational Referrals

Please find a list of regional educational/psychological professionals and tutoring services. While St. Thomas School is asked from time to time for referrals as to educational professionals, the school is not in a position to make any direct recommendations. The listed individuals and organizations have been consulted by St. Thomas School parents from time to time, have worked directly with the school, or have been used by other regional independent schools. You should note that these professionals have no affiliation with and are independent of St. Thomas School. Accordingly, St. Thomas School has no responsibility for such referrals, or for any claim or cause of action of any nature relating to or arising from consultation with such professionals. We make every effort to keep this list up-to-date. However, if you note that any information has changed, please let us know as soon as possible so we can update our listings.

Tutors

Qualified tutors are added to a database of available professionals to support students who have a demonstrated need for additional support, or for parents who are simply seeking out additional support for their own children. In cases where the school is referring a student for additional support, tutors are expected to work closely with the classroom teacher. All normal tutoring is done outside school hours. Tutoring during the day is only permitted in exceptional circumstances for serious academic support as determined by an Educational Accommodation Plan with the agreement of the Learning Specialist and school administration.

All financial and scheduling arrangements are between the tutor and the individual families. Listed tutors have met with a member of the administration and have completed a background check; however, it is still the parents’ responsibility to interview tutors for best fit. If you as a family decide to seek out an unlisted tutor for additional support, please let your child’s classroom teacher know.

Onsite tutoring is limited to the tutors listed below and can be arranged during the following times: 7:30 to 8:15 and 3:00-4:00. Due to limited available space, priority is given to students who have been recommended to have tutor support through the Child Study process.
