Raise-the-paddle: Nourishing Our School Community
Our school kitchen and Commons are well-loved, high-traffic spaces—feeding growing students, fueling learning, and hosting countless conversations and events each day. Like anything that works hard, some of our kitchen equipment has reached the end of its natural lifespan and is ready for a well-earned retirement. And like any space that is used and enjoyed daily, the Commons is ready for a thoughtful refresh.
This year’s Raise-the-Paddle will support the replacement of aging equipment, along with updates to our dining and meeting space. Upgrades include:
- Air conditioning in the Commons & kitchen
- New kitchen equipment including oven, steamer, range and cold/warm storage
- Enhanced lighting
- New curtain that transforms the Commons from kitchen/dining activities to an event space
These improvements will help our beloved SAGE Dining food service team work more efficiently and comfortably, and allow us to continue providing the reliable, nourishing meals our community counts on—now and into the future. A refreshed Commons will ensure the space remains welcoming and hospitable for all who gather there whether it is for a parent meeting, after-school club, or division chapel.
Think of this as a “replace, refresh, and renew” moment—honoring what has served us well while investing in what comes next. When you raise your paddle, you’re helping us keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and making a good thing even better.
